I fell into a career in Long Term Care and can’t imagine myself doing anything else. Improving the quality of life for the most deserving members of our society is not only meaningful, but also challenging and rewarding at the same time. In my position, I get the added bonus of having a positive impact on the lives of the staff as well.
I have enjoyed serving seniors for over 22 years. The best part of my job has nothing to do with secretarial work. The most rewarding part is assisting residents and their families with the many “little things” that come up. I get a tremendous sense of accomplishment when I hear a resident say, “I’m so glad I moved here, you have helped to make it easy.” I look forward, every day, to helping our residents feel good about their decision to live on our campus.
Having over 25 years of service in social work, 10 of which I specialized in geriatrics, I enjoy life and sharing in the laughter and sorrows of our residents. I feel fortunate that my personality and my vocation are a perfect match because I truly enjoy working with seniors and get great personal satisfaction helping to enrich their lives.
I have been in the nursing field for thirty-one years—seventeen of those years have been at TJRHCC. Though I have an extensive background stemming from cardio care, intensive care units, orthopedics and med/surgery care, my true passion is geriatric care and has been for over twenty years. I am a firm believer that every person deserves optimal care, whether they are 1, 21, or 91 years young and it makes me very proud to see our mission statement being fulfilled each and every day.
24 years ago, my career in long-term care began. I started as a CNA and quickly realized I could make a bigger impact on the lives of our residents as a licensed nurse. Even though my position is primarily administrative, I am a “people person” and truly enjoy visiting with the residents.
I have 24 years experience in physical therapy, 15 years experience in geriatrics, and am a Certified Personal Trainer. Making a difference in someone’s day is what it’s all about. Each time I see a person’s quality of life improve as a result of what we do, it makes it all worthwhile.
I truly enjoy planning and providing healthy, nutritious, kosher meals to our residents. Whether it is a private party, special family gathering or a special event, you can bet our Foodservice staff will take great pride in its service.
I have 27 years of experience in the environmental services. For the past 12 years I have been a Director of Environmental Services. I came here because I can make the residents feel good about their homes and I can see the accomplishments of my staff daily.
I have 35 yrs. Experience in maintenance as well as being a Licensed Mechanical Engineer. I enjoy my job and the friendships I have built with our residents.
